Enjoy These Great Activities at Hawaii Resorts

For vacationers looking for a fabulous luxury vacation, consider a trip to one or more of the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii is a beautiful vacation destination that truly needs no introduction. The long white-sand beaches and fresh sea breezes are enough to captivate anyone’s heart.

Luxury Hawaii vacations start with Hawaii resorts that come with all the trimmings. If you are looking for exclusivity, consider spending your Hawaii vacation at secluded Hawaii resorts on the lesser-travelled islands.

For a truely memorbale visit to the islands, consider an itinerary that includes big-ticket activities like sky diving and scuba diving, as well as indulgent outdoor spa experiences and candlelit dinners on the water.

Spas

When selecting Hawaii resorts for your vacation, be sure to look for resorts that offer spa services either at an in-house spa or in your suite. If your resort is beachfront, and it should be since you’re in Hawaii, look for outdoor massages and facials. You’ll be able to hear the waves crashing against the shore as your masseuse soothes your tension.

For vacationers traveling with a spouse or special someone, consider booking a couple’s massage. You’ll lay side by side as your receive your treatment, either in a large treatment room or in your suite. This is a romantic idea that is perfect for honeymoons and anniversaries, or just because.

If you’re getting a Hawaii massage, make sure it’s an authentic one. Consider finding a spa that performs lomi-lomi, an ancient Hawaiian massage that involves a deeply spiritual component. Lomi-lomi incorporates hot stones, optional prayer, breathing techniques and a great ambiance. For instance, if you stay at the Fairmont Orchid on Big Island, you can walk to your massage session on a cooled lava path to a scenic hut right on the beach.

Dining

Many of the five-star Hawaii resorts offer fine dining options, so make sure to check the restaurant choices at your own resort as well as the surrounding resorts when looking for places to dine. You may also want to check out a couple of the local eateries while you’re in Hawaii to experience some authentic Hawaiian cuisine. Enquire with the concierge at your resort and ask for their recommendations.

If you really want to eat authentic Polynesian food, attending a luau is a must. One of the best luaus in the country is at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Feast on a Hawaiian buffet while enjoying traditional dances and songs.

For a high point in a romantic Hawaii vacation, charter a boat for a private tour and then a romantic candlelit dinner on the water.

Activities

In Hawaii, you can dive out of a plane and beneath the waves. Pacific Skydiving Hawaii offers experienced instructors for experienced and first-time skydivers. You’ll be guaranteed to free-fall for over one minute!

For certified scuba divers, hop on a dive boat and explore the nearby reefs and the abundant marine life that inhabits them. Non-divers can still explore this vibrant underwater world on a snorkel cruise. You’ll board a boat and travel to a secluded bay where you’ll be able to snorkel, scuba dive and party aboard the boat. Consider choosing Kona Honu Divers, home of the world-famous nighttime manta ray dive!

Animal lovers will enjoy a moonlit horseback ride along the beach or through one of the plantations in Hawaii. Ask your Hawaii resort’s concierge about the various activities on offer in the area.

Luxury abounds in Hawaii. For a memorable Hawaii vacation, look for the best Hawaii resorts and plan an itinerary full of exciting (and relaxing) activities.

Experience the Rugged Beauty of Kauai on Your Hawaii Vacation

Kauai is the Hawaiian island that gives visitors a glimpse back to a time long before the first humans settled this Pacific island chain. Hawaii vacations can be all beaches and big resorts, but if you’re looking to experience some of Hawaii’s natural splendors, you should book Hawaii flights to Kauai.

On Kauai you will be able to marvel at monumental canyons, soaring cliffs and experience the power of huge waterfalls. Hawaii vacations can offer adventure, so don’t forget to pack those hiking boots.

The Grand Canyon of the Pacific

One of the natural wonders of Hawaii is Waimea Canyon in Koke’e State Park. The canyon is located off route 550, outside of Lihue. The canyon is more than 10 miles long and at least one mile wide. In some places the canyon is 3,000 feet deep. The canyon is famous for its reddish appearance, which is due to the high copper content in the soil. For the avid hiker, this canyon is an experience not to be missed.

Waterfalls

Because Kauai experiences the heaviest rainfall in the Hawaiian chain, the waterfalls on the island are spectacular. One of the best views on Kauai is the Opaekaa Falls. They are located off Route 580. There is no trail down to the falls from the road, but there is an overlook just off the highway.

Another must-see is Wailua Falls, which is quite close to the Opaekaa Falls. Located outside of Lihue, these falls are 80 feet high and are viewed from an overlook. On first glance, the falls look like one big waterfall, but they are in fact three. Hundreds of years ago, Hawaiian men would prove their manhood by jumping from the top of Wailua Falls. There is a trail leading down the bottom of the falls. Experienced hikers should only attempt it as the terrain is uneven and the rocks are slippery.

Na Pali Coast

There are few words to describe the Na Pali Coast. The vaulting cliffs are a rare sight indeed and the beaches are like something out of a dream. The Na Pali Coast in Kauai has been featured in many major motion pictures. It played backdrop in Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jurassic Park’. The only way you can reach this breathtaking coast is by boat. The only land access is a strenuous hike called the Kalalau Trail.

This trail is 11 miles long. Fit hikers should be able to complete it in a day, but most will have to break and camp overnight. The hike takes in five valleys and ends at Kalalau beach. The Na Pali Coast is quite remote so it’s perfect for those looking to escape commercial tourist centers like Honolulu.

If you are looking for an off the beaten path-style vacation, book Hawaii flights to the island of Kauai. Along with great beaches, there are canyons, dramatic coastlines and awe-inspiring waterfalls.

Two Free Tips To SaveBig Bucks On Airfare Immediately!

low airfare

low airfare

I’m sure you’ve seen the advertisements on television or the banner advertisements on the internet. You know the ones that promise to save you big money by buying your airline tickets from their website. Seems like they all claim to save you big money, if you only buy from their website.

Well, the two simple airfare saving tips I’m going to share with you are free. I used these two tips on a recent family trip to save over $1600 the cost of airline tickets for four people. You can also save money using these two simple tips. And, it doesn’t really matter which airline carrier you use to purchase your tickets!

Tip number one. Fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Now, I know you have seen or heard this tip before. But it is true. If you are flexible enough in your travel schedule to leave and come back on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you will save money on your next flight. You can save between 8% and 10% by just using this tip. Now, that’s not a lot of money if you are talking about one person, but if it’s a family of four this could easily save you from $80 per ticket on up just by being flexible with your dates. This could pay for a night of the hotel expense or another meal out, depending on where you live and your travel destination.

Tip number two requires a little more effort on your part, but can pay big dividends. After checking your local airport for pricing, check nearby airports for prices and departure times to your destination. Departing from a nearby airport can save you anywhere from a few dollars to several hundred dollars. Again, the key here is flexibility. Let me give you an example. We were planning a family vacation to Hawaii in 2007. We knew this a year in advance. We did not have a concrete date set, but we knew that we wanted to leave about the time school dismissed for summer break. We begin looking for airfare about a year in advance just to get an idea how much the tickets would cost. The fare from our local airport was running anywhere from $780 to $900. About 8 months prior to departure I was checking airfare prices for the local airport (leaving on a Tuesday or Wednesday of course) and the airfare was $780. I checked a neighboring airport (about a 90 minute drive away) and found the tickets for $380 each. We immediately bought 4 tickets and saved $1600 on our airfare. Of course this doesn’t factor in gas for the drive over and back but trust me, it wasn’t $1600 dollars.

So, when planning your next trip try these two little money saving techniques to see if you can save moneyon your next purchase of airline tickets!
